Frognal Gardens wins award for Camden in Bloom

Our lovely client Claudia decided to enter the Camden in Bloom 2009 competition with the wildlife garden that we designed and built at her Hampstead home in the category “wildlife garden” .

The mayor created a special award category “wildlife garden design”, because they had never seen a garden so wildlife friendly, yet so beautifully designed.

The award was for the design and concept, and how each element of the garden was beautifully designed, yet each was perfect for wildlife as well. "Most wildlife gardens look wild as well" they said, “but this is also stunningly designed”. The stone walls, the deep pond with a shallow sloping beach, the jetty of old railway sleepers, the perennial planting, the sedum roof, all combine to create habitats for a huge range of garden wildlife.
